Chirstmas at My House

Since there isn't a hodgepodge this week, I thought I'd give you a wrap up of my Christmas with pictures.
Let's start with the tree..the one I wasn't going to put up.... yes I caved.

Then there was the get together with Biz's family - love the way the girls had to make faces.
This is his daughter who just got home from Afghanistan.
And then there was Christmas with my daughter and her hubs - and my next grandson!

She's easy to please - and easy to send into giggling fits.

I got Biz a remote control helicopter - knowing that he would have hours of fun tormenting the cats with it.
 Which he did.
I caught this last night - I think it was a battle for who got to lay on the fuzzy blanket.
And there was this little guy - growing up so fast!
He's definitely going to be a "ladies man"-just look at that grin.
Daddy had to help a little.
Didn't want anything to do with Santa.
But it was ok if Mom and Dad were there!

Today was my birthday!

Another year older! Many thanks to my kids and to Biz for the awesome gifts!

Heather got me a new ornament! Awesome - I think this ties into the fact that she is wanting to learn to can.

She also got me a gift card so I could order my new Kindle cover - don't have a picture of that yet.
Son and DIL sent me these! A purse that says Grandma!

A lunch bag with my name on it - and notice the theme - they know how I am about my coffee!
This is my favorite gift of all!

And Biz got me my new flagpole light!

I think I made out like a bandit!

Biz's Mom's 82nd Birthday Party

The birthday girl!

She got most of them!

Great grandchild had to help with the presents

Men only!

While the girls stay with the party.

Why is it that the guys always end up in a separate room?

My Weekend

For a 3 day weekend it sure went fast! Wrote one paper, took a test and turned in my topic for the term-paper in one class, did a little work in the other. Had the "sendoff" for the local Guard Unit headed for Kuwait on Sunday and then I spent all day yesterday upgrading both computers in between doing all the normal weekend chores. Reactivated my Skype account and installed a webcam on mine so that I can "see" the grandbaby when he gets here and then installed Skype and a webcam on the other one so that Biz can see and talk to his daughter while she is in Kuwait! Went to get my taxes done last night - almost glad to be back at work.

Procrastination

Nothing like waiting for my last day off to start working on the kitchen cabinet. Thought it was a matter of lightly sanding before I could start painting the inside and it turned into quite a project. Biz decided to scrape all of the old paint off. Needless to say - no painting has been done yet but it will get there.

The cats spent the day curled up on the couch - together. Guess they wanted to stay out of the way.

These two would never admit they like each other - notice how they are back to back! Also notice how the Queen gets the fuzzy blanket!

Sat night at the cabin

Miss Pandora - determined that I pay attention to her and not the computer.

That's it Mom - quit typing and pet me.
Put the camera down and pet me!
Please disregard the double chin.
 I mean it Mom!
Not leaving till you put that down and pet me some more.
My chiminea in the backyard - we roasted hot dogs one night last week
 Biz's brothers' cabin
 The Biz himself
Notice the chiminea, look familiar? Weird - I got mine a few years ago in Galesburg - they bought theirs (before they saw mine) in Quincy.

I'll be better

I've been actively reading lots of blogs and have found that I truly enjoy it. It's nice to read about others' lives, trials, and achievements. Kind of reminds me that I'm not the only one struggling through life. I plan on posting more often, even got the camera out last night to take some pictures but my batteries died before I had a chance to get any good ones. I was trying to take a picture of the bat that is living in my garage (yes I said THERE IS A BAT LIVING IN MY GARAGE) but since I am deathly afraid of said bat and was trying to take pictures through the window - it did not work. I did get brave enough to open the door wide enough to get my arm through, holding the camera but then the batteries died. They are on the charger and I plan on stopping tonight to get an extra set so I don't have this problem again. Will also be stopping to get a bag of concrete - the flag pole is finally going up on Monday. That's about all for now-better get to work.
