Questions for Friday, July 6th.

 1. What do you call them-flip flops, thongs, sandals, or slippers? Flip flops!
2. Are you a "my kids can do no wrong" kind of mom or a "Johnny punched you, well what did you do to him first?" kind of mom?
I was a little bit of both. I don't often get mad but do something to my kids and you'd have **** to pay!
3. Would you confront a friend that lookedk/looks down on your husband/significant other?
Yes, I would. I used to make excuses for my ex all the time - until I couldn't any more.

4. Biggest pet peeve?

People that act like they are better than you.

5.  What is your favorite take out meal?

Chineese - Cashew chicken from a local restaruant - it's awesome!

Questions for Friday, July 6th.

 1. Is love at 1st sight possible? I think "attraction" is definitely possible at first sight but loves takes time to grow.

2. How did you choose your pet's name? Kimmy - I inherited from my son - he named her. Pandora - I've always loved the name and it's the first thing I thought of when I saw her. Macy - Biz named her - said she just looked like a Macy.

3. What are you considering giving up (cable, home phone)? I would love to give up the home phone but I can't get internet without it.

4. How much do you pay your babysitter? I can honestly say I never hired a babysitter. My kids did go to daycare when they were little but I never was comfortable leaving them with a sitter while I went out and had fun.

5. How "young" is old enough to babysit? I used to babysit - I think I started when I was around 14. I think it depends on the sitter and how responsible they are.

 1. What's your favorite childhood snack that you still eat as an adult? Peanut butter

2. What food will you not eat the low fat version of? Cottage Cheese - the lowfat stuff is awful!
3. What's your favorite way to cool off during the summer? In the pool!
4. What's your favorite summer read? I've been reading a lot of the free Kindel books and some of them are pretty good - lately, I've been into the paranormal ones.
5. What are you doing to stay cool in this awful heat? See #3!

Questions for Friday, June 22nd.

 1. What do you keep a stock pile of? Groceries - I try to keep the freezer stocked with meat and the cupboards full of canned goods.

2. If Ben & Jerry asked you to invent an ice cream, what would it be? Something involving coffee and chocolate.

3. How do you blow off steam? Cleaning! If I'm really upset about something you will find me cleaning out closets, drawers, cabinets..... washing walls  - deep cleaning that doesn't get done on a regular basis.

4. What would you do if you had an hour to yourself anywhere within a ten mile radius of your home...no kids, no hubby, just you? I am actually quite used to that so I wouldn't do anything different.

5. When you were 16, what was your curfew in the summertime? I left home at 16 so I had no curfew.

 1. Would you grow your hair out to donate it?-Yes, and have a couple of times.

2. What song makes you think of summer?-Anything by the Beach Boys (now that's telling my age).

3. Are you a flip flops or sandals kind of person?- Flip flops!

4. Favorite summer treat (ie ice cream, snow cones, etc)?-Love my homemade cappuccino ice cream.

5. Do you do something special for the father of your children? - No, divorced for many years here and although I get along with the ex, I don't do anything "special" for him. I have sent him pictures of the grandson  since he doesn't have internet and can't see all the posts with the pictures (son and dil are in England) but that just seems to be the right thing to do. I would hate it if I never got to see pictures of him so I just take a picture of the computer screen and send it to him.

Questions for Friday, June 8th.

 1. Did you do anything special for your kids on the last day of school? Or did you parents do anything special for you? I never did anything on the last day of school, the kids were just happy to be out and I usually spent the day with a house full of neighborhood kids.

2. What's your favorite summer tradition with your children? We used to go to Forrest Park Zoo in St. Louis once every summer.

3. What was your favorite thing to do during the summer as a kid? I spent lots of time with siblings and cousins during the summers.

4. How old were you when you were married? Were you a Bridezilla? I was 23 and no I was not - didn't have a big wedding.

5. What is your favorite girl name? (I'm needing suggestions.)  I wanted to name my daughter Amanda Jade but got so tired of hearing it before she was born by both grandmothers, I changed it at the last minute without telling anyone. But I still think that name is pretty.

 1. What were you scared of as a kid? I was and still am afraid of mice - horrid little creatures.

2. Do you sleep well in a hotel? No, does anybody?

3. If you could meet any celebrity, dead or alive, who and why? Ah, I've answered this question before, Sam Elliott, Tom Selleck, and Pierce Brosnan- and I can't believe that anyone would NOT know why!

4. It's a hot summer day. Do you prefer to be pool side or at the beach? I would prefer the beach but due to where I live, the pool will have to do.

5. What is your favorite summer dish? Fried green tomatoes.

 1. Are you a napper? Not usually, unless I'm reallllllllllly tired.

2. What was your favorite subject in school? Most hated? I've always done well with Math, I like numbers, with them - it's either right or wrong. Most hated would have been High School French - or maybe it was the teacher I hated so much.

3. Did you have the something old new borrowed and blue at your wedding? What were they? I think I did, but I really can't remember what they were.

4. What one thing are you determined to do this summer The same thing I do every summer - lots of canning - no matter how bad this economy gets, I won't go hungry!

5. Ice cream or Popsicles? Ice cream! Chocolate please.

My answers:

1.       I can’t stand when people say that you look great when you just got up and threw anything on, worked all day outside and then had to run to town to get something and didn't bother to change because you didn't think you'd run into anyone you knew.

2.       If you are going to volunteer to help with an event please show up.

3.       Call me a cheapskate because I'm always looking for ways to save on items.

4.       If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone whine about being broke, then turn around and pull out a credit card, I swear I’d be a millionaire by now.

Questions for Friday, May 4th:

1. What did you wear to prom? Include a picture if possible. It was a bridesmaid dress from my sister's wedding - it was purple and horrid.

2. Would you rather be on the biggest loser or a food eating challenge? biggest loser

3. Done fave sonic drink? Refreshing summer drink? (Hey, Kristina...was that a typo, or some "done good" Southern thing?) Can't say that I have - my favorite summer drink is the same as my winter drink - coffee!

4. What was your first car, and what did you call it? A 1964 Chevrolet Impalla SS - actually I guess that was not my first car. The first would have been a 1966 Opal Cadet which LITERALLY required you to check the gas and fill the oil. I bought it from my brother for $60. The Impalla was my first love - I named it "Pandora" (yes that is now my cat's name). That car took me everywhere!

5. What's one thing your child or spouse does that sends you over the edge?  My daughter used to open a cabinet door to get something and leave the door open! Drove me nuts!

 1. Do you make your kids finish all the food on their plates? No, I never did.

2. Do you give an allowance? I always tried to but it was hard sometimes with being a single mom - they always got a good chunk of my income tax return to spend on whatever they wanted.

3. Do you actually park your car in the garage? No - and I have a two car garage!

4. What is one food you will NEVER cook? Squid

5. Do you have anything exciting planned for the summer? Not really, work and school like always.

Questions for Friday, April 20th:

1. Groceries are high right now what is easiest way you have found to cut back? -I always buy half a hog, a quarter beef, and have at least one deer in the deep freeze. I also buy chickens when I find them on sale and usually grab 4-5 turkeys around Thanksgiving when they get really cheap. Yes, it's a big deep freeze - but I can't imagine my grocery bills if I had to buy meat every week.

2. What are the top 3 things on your "bucket list"? I want to get to England to see my grandson, I'd love to see an old castle in Scotland or Ireland, and I'd love to build a log cabin somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

3. Would you rather give up AC or heat? I'd rather be hot than to be cold.

4. What's your favorite cocktail?? Don't really do much drinking so I really don't know. I will occasionally make myself a bloody mary - does that count?

5. What was your first job & how old were you? Bookkeeping assistant at a retail store and I was 14 - had to get a worker's permit to be able to do it.

Questions for Friday, April 13th:

1. Who mows your grass? - Biz mows and I weed-eat.

2. Do you have a picture wall or picture gallery in your house (show us! <--- my addition to the question)? Not in my current house but I used to.

3. What book has influenced your thinking the most? Or, what blog? (I want to read what gets people thinking!) I love to read but I can't pin down just one book that has influenced me. As far as blogs, there are many that I follow closely - too many to name.

4. Do you have allergies? If so, how do you handle it this time of year? I've been lucky not to have much of a problem, although my head does seem to be plugged up this year so hopefully that's not a sign for the future. So far, I just "grit my teeth and bear it."

5. What's your go to meal to cook in an hurry? In the winter it would be chili, in the summer I'd just throw some burgers on the grill.

 1. Would you prefer having people over for dinner or going to their house? - I prefer having people to my house because I enjoy cooking and am more comfortable in my own home.

2. Favorite Bible verse and why? - Torn between 2: John 3:16 because it is the key to salvation and John 11:16 - Jesus wept. The shortest verse in the Bible but packed with meaning.

3. What was the first concert you ever attended, and the most recent one? - Beach Boys back around 1977 was the first, and while I know there have been many others, I can't think of any right now.

4. The year is 2025. What are you doing, and what have you done? -Only time will tell.

5. What's your favorite Easter treat? - Chocolate of course.

Questions for Friday, March 30th:

 1. What giveaway would you like to do on your blog?

None - don't do giveaways.

2. If you had to choose between natural artistic ability and natural athletic ability, which would it be?

Normally I would say artistic but lately my legs have been killing me (old injuries from a car accident) so right now I'd say athletic.

3. Do you ditch the coat the minute it becomes "spring" or are you a holdout for more cool temps?

Winter coat is back in the upstairs closet - but I did get out my Spring jackets.

4. What would you do if you won the mega millions lotto of 1/2 billion dollars?

So many things - first me and mine would be debt free and all have the homes/remodels we wanted - daughter/sil and I would fly to England where we and my son/dil/grandson would go on a world class shopping spree - trust funds for grandson and future grands - then I would have to find some worthy charities to help (VFW would be one of them). Sadly, since I don't buy tickets - it will never happen.

5. You are at a hotel by yourself...what do you do? 

Get out the Kindel, stretch out and read.
