Thursday is here again and it's time to do a little "pondering" with Brenda
from Fiction With a Purpose.
Her rules are really easy:
1. Grab the Pondering with a Purpose Badge (in her sidebar)
2. Look at the week's prompt
3. Post something on your blog that relates to the prompt - it can be a
story, a poem, a picture -- anything you want it to be.
4. Go back here and add the URL from your post to the linky list on Brenda's.
5. Go check out the other bloggers who have added their links to the list.
6. AND most of all.... Have fun!
This Week's prompt is: Traveling
My favorite mode of travel would have to be the one I am most comfortable with - by car. I have traveled by bus and plane but have never been on a train or a cruise ship. I would like to do both of those at some point but just haven't gotten around to it. I have a friend that works for Princess Cruises and she is always telling me that it's the way to go and she can hook me up with a great trip. To date I haven't had the time or money to take her up on it, although I would love to do a cruise to Alaska. Right now I am planning a trip across the ocean - by plane - to see my first grandchild when he arrives or sometime soon after. It's kind of hard to plan a trip when you don't know exactly when you're going! As of right now my traveling experience exists mostly of places in the US - TN/VA/KY/OH/IN/MI/WI/AL/GA/FL/TX/NE/ID/MO/and of course IL.Really haven't been many places have I?

I hate flying ... not only is it expensive, but it's such a pain. And DH enjoys driving, and we are really well-suited to driving together. Not to mention that we can pack as much/whatever we want - no restrictions! ;-) We will be trying a new means of transportation in a little more than 11 months - cruising. Our first cruise will be to the Caribbean (since we love warm weather and beaches). But we'd really love to do a cruise to Alaska. I have a feeling that if the cruise next January goes well, we'll book a cruise to Alaska. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI think the secret to enjoying flying is to wear comfortable clothes, pack light, take a good book (I always take my kindle) and most important go potty before you get on the plane. I love to sit by the window and imagine what is happening way down there where the lakes look like splashes, and the mountains like a wrinkled tablecloth.
ReplyDeleteI always manage to get car sick!
ReplyDeleteFunny how I don't get seasick on a cruise though....
I forgot to add.... I added you to the linky... it is up now!
ReplyDeleteThe more I think about it, an Alaskan cruise sounds very intriguing. Something completely different from sand, sun and surf. Hopefully someday!
