Giving Thanks
I am thankful to have a lot of good friends - but one in particular. My best friend used to live just 5 miles away. We spent a lot of time at her old farmhouse - canning, talking, crocheting, quilting and doing nothing. Two years ago she and her husband moved about 20 miles away. Last year I moved 40 miles away - the other direction. But she is still my best friend. My children have called her "Mama Vickie" since they were small. We still talk a lot - usually early in the mornings. I truly miss being close enough to spend time together but the friendship is still there. She has been there through the bad times and the good times. I am thankful for that.

There's nothing like close friends. Having had the time to nurture the friendship will keep it safe when you're not as close.
ReplyDeleteFriends are special gifts sent to us from our heavenly Father, I too am so thankful for the ones He has given to me. Thank you for sharing.

Good friends are a treasure. It is wonderful how you can just pick up where you left off, and its like you haven't even been apart.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a friend like that... we could pick up the phone and it was as if time had stood still. You are truly lucky!
ReplyDeleteWe all need a friend like that. Mine is Bernice. We've known each our whole lives. We have never lived near each other since we've been adults but are still very close. She is the sister I never had. : )
ReplyDeleteYou are so blessed to have such a close friend.
