Giving Thanks
Today, I am thankful for "technology." For the ability to keep in touch
with family members hundreds and even thousands of miles away - for the
ability to take some classes online, without having to go to a classroom
at a predetermined time - for cell phones that can call anywhere and
anytime for a set amount per month - for the ability to use this blog -
all of it. It's amazing how far we've come from when I was a kid and a
letter sent to a family member would take a week to get there and a
response another week to get back. Back then, we couldn't even use the
phone without worrying about the cost. We've come a long way. I'm
thankful for that.

I'm thankful for technology, too. My dad is 88 years old and showing the signs/effects of his age. My sisters and I are able to keep in touch with my dad on a daily basis while allowing him to continue to feel independent ... all thanks to technology (email and cell phone conference calls).
ReplyDeleteThe techno world has improved my life so such, not only have I met new people, I have access to all kinds of information--like how to remove graffiti from my car, new recipes, and how to fix a creaky door.
