Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

It's time to head over to Patrice's porch for the weekly chat. She is in the middle of the
backlash from the hurricane. Cold and lots of rain. I hope Wendell stays in the barn.
When I talked to my brother last night, they were expecting some heavy snow but they are further down than Patrice.
Questions
  1. Are you planning on doing most of your Christmas shopping in stores, or online? Daughter and I do a big shopping trip.
  2. Have you ever been to a bonfire? Lots of times - I'm a country girl.
  3. What would "simplifying life" mean to you? A cabin in the woods with a big garden out back, chickens and maybe a few other critters hanging around.
  4. Tell me about one blog you really enjoy reading. There are many blogs that I enjoy reading. I'm not sure I could pick just one.
  5. Have you ever had someone who isn't in your family, but felt just like family? My BF is more like a sister than a friend. Since I have no family around here, hers kindof adopted me.

  1. I used to go on a big shopping trip with my sweet friend, Ms. Teresa every year. It seemed we would pick the coldest day of the year and often it would snow!!! That brought back a sweet memory!! Our daughter and son-in-law are getting 'back to basics'. They have chickens and are gonna get a cow next year!!! I agree about picking a blog...I had trouble with that one, too!!!

  3. I'm not real big on the Christmas shopping, but your shopping trip reminded me of something my ma-in-law & I do together. We both save our change all year & right before Christmas we "cash" it in. Then we decide where we're going to go the day after Christmas, we wait in line for the store to open, & we buy all of our Christmas decorations & wrapping paper for the next Christmas. We turn it into a contest & see who can get the most stuff for say $50.00. One year I won by buying 50 boxes of lights for .10 (yes ten cents) a box...I haven't bought lights in 15 years! Have a blessed week.

  4. My daughter and I have a ball shopping together, but I can't imagine having one big shopping trip. I get tired just thinking about it, LOL.
