This Week's prompt: Words with double meanings -
Stress
When I first read the prompt this morning, I thought maybe we weren't doing words with double meanings this week. When I think of the word stress I think of the daily life stresses that we just can't avoid:
Washing machine broke - crap now I have to go to the laundromat and then I have to come up with money for a new one;
car breaks down - stuck on the side of the road - how do I get home? How do I get to work tomorrow? How much money is this gonna cost?;
test tomorrow and I haven't studied enough;
winter storm and roads are bad - did daughter make it home ok?;
Daughter pregnant, hope everything goes smoothly for her;
Those normal things that cause us so much stress - that was the first thought that came to my mind.
But when I think about it, there are other meanings of the word. It
could mean the stress (or force) on the seams of my clothes caused by me
gaining weight which is something that I'm stressed about - sorry,
keeps going back to that meaning for me.
