Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

It's time to head over to Patrice's porch for the weekly chat. Welcome to the new participants in the chat!

Questions
  1. Are you doing anything special for Valentine's Day? Not a thing.
  2. When you attend something that isn't totally casual, are you likely to wear dress pants or a dress? I prefer long skirts - usually paired with boots. I love the look of boots and I think that skirts set them off better than dresses.
  3. Do you use a regular toothbrush or one of the battery run kind? I use a regular one. I've tried the battery ones but I always go back to just a plain old toothbrush.
  4. Did you have valentines in school when you were a child? We did. We always made "mailboxes" for them. I can remember sorting through the valentines to make sure the right people got the right ones.
  5. If you could learn a new craft tomorrow, what would it be? I would love to be able to do the fancy quilts that so many people out there do. I think they're beautiful. Sadly, I don't think I have the patience, the time, or the money to do it. I imagine it could be an expensive hobby.

  1. Quilting is an expensive hobby, especially when you are like me and more of a fabric collector than actual quilt maker :)

  2. Boots and skirts are a pretty combination. I used to love the Valentines day mailbox tradition in school too.

  3. I like long skirts and boots too. I wear them a lot in the fall and winter. Hobbies can be expensive, but I think you get so much more out of doing something enjoyable. Like your first commentor- I buy way more fabric than I need for sewing. Happy Valentine's Day!

  4. I feel about boots like I do hats- they look good on everyone but me. LOL I right there with you on the quilting. I never thought about the cost, but the patience and time issues are deterrents for sure. Birdie (DD3) taught herself how to quilt and I haven't asked her about the cost. I have, however, asked her to make me one. Haha!

  5. I totally agree with you about needing the patience for quilting. I think that is why I have never tried it.
    Have a wonderful week!

  7. Maybe that's why I so seldom do pancakes too! used to do the cornbread fritters with peanutbutter often, but backed off because of the chloresterol. I thought you were only joking about having the 12th off, or would have called. At least you got done what I still need to work on with the house work!
