Welcome to Monday Quiz About Me - hosted by Acting Balanced and Touristic. They post 5 questions on Sunday evening along with a linky for you to link
up your post answers!
Here are the Questions:
1. Which are you better at: Reading, Writing or Math?If I had to choose one I guess it would be writing, although I've never had a problem with any of them.
2. Tell us a good 'come back' story. Where you were down but were able to reverse fortunes and come out on top. I've been down a lot in my life. I was a newly divorced single mother when I lost my first job to "downsizing." For two years, I worked 5 part time jobs while I went to school. Don't know that I came out "on top" in the end, but things got much better.
3. Which would you rather do: dine or eat? Definitely eat.
4. What is one thing the someone close to you does that just annoys the heck out of you? That would be the Biz and he tends to be somewhat of a slob in certain areas of the house. I don't understand how you can add salt to a pot on the stove and the entire stovetop looks like there has been a snowstorm - or why food ALWAYS ends up on the floor, table, cabinet - or why he can get something out but never put it away - and I'm not even going to mention the bathroom issues!
And don't forget to add a 5th Question on your own blog so we can answer as we hop around!
Most of you probably know by now that I got a new grandson last week - a surprise 6 week early grandson. It's amazing how small 4 and a half pounds looks and feels! He's doing great but it scared me and everyone else half to death. I think I managed to stay pretty calm on the outside but I was sure shaking on the inside. How do you handle crisis situations - calm or crazy?

Oh I so should have referred to hubby in question 4! Though he is a slob when cooking over the years he had improved greatly, I still must clean behind him but not as much.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new addition even with the alarming earliness.
I use to be the calm one in crisis situations being able to suppress emotions till I was alone. There are some now that just make me lose my marbles unintentionally making me utterly worthless.
I kinda don't mind cleaning up after my husband because it means he cooked! LOL
ReplyDeleteIn crisis situations I have always gone into action mode. I block all of my emotions first and do what I can, even if it's just comfort someone or hold their hand. When the crisis is over, my emotions flood back in and then I break down.
yeah, it's a scary thing here when the hubby cooks too. every pot - he'll use cereal bowls to mix food instead of the mixing bowls. I know on the grand scheme it's not a big deal, but ....it irks me. I get irked, can't help it. LOL
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on the crisis. I worked in a male maximum security prison and there would often be riots or dangerous situation. Calm and Cool As A Cucumber. No problem - just follow the procedure.
One of my kids gets seriously hurt?? probably full on panic mode. I know I'd probably freak at first....but hopefully I could calm myself down rather quickly and get to business.
If anything I've learned in my 22+ years at the hospital, it is to remain calm in pressure situations.
ReplyDeletei definitely stay calm. i think that's because everyone else i know does crazy :) i have to be the calm one.
ReplyDeleteMost times I will stay calm until the crisis is over. Then I go to pieces. I guess that's better than the other way around.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new addition! I usually stay pretty calm until afterward, then I stress out!
ReplyDeleteCongrats once again. I guess we can not say it enough. I am at my best when things are at their worse. It is one of those things about me.
