Pondering With a Purpose

Thursday again! Time to do a little "pondering" with Brenda from Fiction With a Purpose.

Her rules are really easy:

1. Grab the Pondering with a Purpose Badge (in her sidebar)
2. Look at the week's prompt
3. Post something on your blog that relates to the prompt - it can be a story, a poem, a picture -- anything you want it to be.
4. Go back here and add the URL from your post to the linky list on Brenda's.
5. Go check out the other bloggers who have added their links to the list.
6. AND most of all.... Have fun!

This Week's prompt:   Staring
When you stare off into the distance... what are you thinking about?

Truthfully, I do this quite often. I stare out the kitchen window every time I stand there and do dishes - a mindless task. I often find myself thinking of little landscaping things that I could do, wondering if it is ever going to rain again, or just thinking about my day.

Sometimes I think about my budget, and how to save enough to get me and daughter to England. Tonight as I was standing there staring out the window, my mind was on the trip daughter and I are planning this fall - just a trip down home but I was wondering how much this little trip would cut into my savings for the big one.

I go to bed at night and turn on the TV - but I don't often really watch it. I stare at it but my mind is elsewhere - on my kids, my grandson, my job, the pets, maybe a crochet project............. anything really.

Sometimes, when I read someone's post, I'll sit and reflect on it for a while. Brenda's are good at making me do that.

I stare into space all the time - but my mind is always working while I'm staring!

  3. Kitchen windows must have been made for contemplating.

  5. A lot of times when I am staring off into the distance, I think about my budget too and what I can cut back on.
