I would love to sit in the porch swing and talk to a friend - a REAL talk - GIRL talk. Since my BF and I have both moved, I really miss being able to do this. We still talk on the phone but it is just not the same. There's nothing like talking to a friend that understands what you're going through, knows when to offer a cup of coffee - or a glass of wine; knows when to agree - and knows when to tell you what you don't want to hear; knows when to talk - and when to just sit and swing.
A friend to talk to can be so important. I talk to my family,and my sister is awesome, but my friends work entirely too much and never have time. Sometimes knowing when to sit and swing is one of the best qualities a friend can have.
ReplyDeleteoh i know--i have a friend and we have recently reconnected--years ago, we could talk on the phone and not say anything for minutes at a time---it's not quite back to way yet but getting there :)
