Time for the Coffee Chat! If you'd like
to join, head over to Leslie's at Time
out for Mom.
The topic is: Is it too soon?
Yes, Christmas comes too soon to many places. I personally do not do any decorating until after Thanksgiving. I like to celebrate the holidays individually. BUT - for me the Christmas season officially begins on the day after Thanksgiving. I look forward to it every year. I don't do Black Friday shopping - want nothing to do with that - but I do all my decorating that day, with Christmas shows on in the background. I have a house down the street that looks very similar to one of Leslie's pictures and I totally agree that it is TOO MUCH. I especially dislike the big blow up figures.
Then it's probably a good thing I didn't have that picture! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe house in question though is across from a public school, and I happen to know that the couple goes overboard because the kids can see the house and love it. So I guess you have to applaud the heart behind it, if not the actual gaudy sight! ha.
I confess I was actually listening to some Christmas music while I was writing my post. But this weekend I will get some of my decor out and welcome the holiday season.
Thanks for chatting with me!
Agreed... there is a 'nice' way to do it and way to completely over do it... I always wonder how those people pay their electric bills... and the blow up dolls are just too scary!
ReplyDeleteOne year we worried about the elctric bill and did not use as many lights however we got a little depressed so now we put the electric bill into our Christmas budget.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of blow up decorations, but I love lights!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, definitely after Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteOMG... I am so not a fan of the yard art that has taken over some folks yards. I feel its tacky--- I am a fan of less is more. Lights, trees, wreaths. Ya know, traditional items.
