The coffee chat is back! If you'd like
to join, head over to Leslie's at Time
out for Mom.
The topic is: Tips
Let's see, what insightful tip can I send out to the cyberworld this
morning? I'm fighting a cold and my head is a little fuzzy but I'll try to come
up with something.Tip 1: When fighting a cold and all you want to do is sleep - try a cup of espresso! It works wonders. I actually made it until 10:00 p.m. last night.
Tip 2: When you have hard water, really hard - the kind that plugs up your coffee pot - white vinegar works wonders. Run equal parts of vinegar and water through once a week and it keeps the pot working - otherwise, it tends to take forever to make a pot of coffee and when you're as addicted as me - you don't want to wait that long!
Tip 3: Get a grinder. Daughter got me one last year and it is AMAZING! I never realized the difference that fresh ground coffee makes but let me tell you, it’s just awesome. Not to mention the fact that you can grind it really fine to make your espresso too.

How awesome - coffee tips for coffee chat!!! love it. And I swear by the vinegar method -- an absolute must if you want your coffee to taste good...and fast!
ReplyDeletethe grinder does really make a difference, doesn't it. Our grocery store has a grinder so we can buy the coffee beans and grind there; but even with that, a week later they still aren't as fresh. Actually grinding them in the morning: heaven!
thanks for returning to the chat!!
the other thing that works really well on hard water stains is CLR... but vinegar is way cheaper!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better :)
I hope you feel better really soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. Wow, I love your tips. I would have never thought of white vinegar and I use it for a lot of things, so I have it in the house.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about getting a grinder, I keep looking at them and now hearing that someone really does taste the difference and from a coffee drinker, well, I think I am going to make the buy.
I used to live in a town that had really hard water. Knowing about the vinegar is a great tip to keep in mind in case I ever move back! And yes, fresh ground coffee is amazing! I never used one until I met my husband who swore by it. I was annoyed at the "extra" work. But no, it's no big deal!
ReplyDeleteI no longer make coffee at home but when I did I used the vinegar, I also run some in my washer once a month to get rid of the funky smell in the washer.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better quickly :]
