Based on the original Meet Me on Monday hosted by Java at Never Growing Old,
Heather over at Acting Balanced posts 5 questions on Sunday evening along with a linky for you to link
up your post answers! Since Java is back , Heather has changed the name of her hop to "Monday Quiz About Me."
1. What are your favorite h'orderves at a party? Pinwheels.
2. What Christmas song have heard too much already? Can't think of any.
3. Do you have New Year's Eve plans? To stay at home and probably not even stay up to see the new year in.
4. What was the best blog post you read this week? I enjoy reading the posts on Brenda's Thursday "Pondering" hop. She has some great topics that will actually make you think before you write your post. Last week I really enjoyed Stacy's post on memories.
And don't forget to add a 5th Question on your own blog so we can answer as we hop around!
My 5th question: Regarding the tragedy in Connecticut this past week. What are your feelings on gun control? Mine? Owning a firearm is one of our basic rights. If guns were illegal, only the criminals would own them. I hate the thought of having armed guards at our schools but if there had been one in this case could this have been prevented?

Someone else had this question too my response: I don’t believe guns are the problem, but more so the people who use them to do bad. It’s like blaming a pencil for stupidity. Though I don’t use or own guns, I feel people have the right to use them respectfully and correctly. But then again like cars, you get those who can drive and abide rules that come with it and others that drive like they own the world endangering those around them.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on gun control. It is sad about the mentally ill.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of guns compared to driving a car however at least with a car you have to pass a test and have a licence.
ReplyDeleteI love little hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls.
ReplyDeleteI grew up around guns our family belonged to clubs etc.. but we were taught respect, respect of the gun, respect for HUMAN life, respect of eachother. I would not want my rights to go away. I do see no need for ANY of us to own assualt weapons.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I grew up with guns too and was taught from an early age to respect them what they can do. I was also taught to respect human life. I also don't see any use for assault weapons but I am a country girl and grew up with hunting being common. I own guns. My children own guns - and know the correct way to use them. We are not "sport hunters" but my freezer is full of deer.
DeleteI am a cocktail frank kind of girl!
ReplyDeleteAs a Canadian who grew up in a mostly gun-free culture I can honestly say that I don't see a need for guns that fire more than two bullets - you'd be able to defend yourself or shoot food... not mow down a room of innocents....
ReplyDeleteI don't think guns are the problem either... I think that if someone wants to do damage they are going to do it...with or without guns...
ReplyDeleteand thanks for saying that about my PWAP ... remember it wasn't too long ago we were wondering why more people weren't participating.... I guess patience pays off!
My thought is, we have gun control laws now but lawbreakers know how to get around them. The more laws we have, the more laws will be broken. What we need is gun education, not gun legislation. Teach people about the sanctity of life and how to use guns responsibly.
ReplyDeletethere is a reason why there are so many more mass murders and gun related deaths in america when compared to other countries. i agree that we need gun education, better mental health care, and a ban on assault weapons.
ReplyDeletefunny that we had the same question this week!
It's every person right to own a gun but the sad thing is you can't control who owns them because you can buy them on the down low without registering them when you should.
ReplyDeleteThe mayor down here is now wanting to place a cop in each of the 21 schools around town.
