Monday Quiz About Me

Heather over at Acting Balanced  posts 5 questions on Sunday evening along with a linky for you to link up your post answers!

Here are the Questions:

1. What do you think the biggest downside to being rich and famous would be? Not having any privacy.
2. What is the most interesting news article you read or heard about last week? sci-fi coming true
3. Who kissed you for the first time? Lance - on the ferris wheel
4. How much do you typically tip at a decent sit down restaurant? 20%

My 5th Question - What are your thoughts on the government limiting the size and types of food you can purchase? I know we have a problem with obesity in this country but I feel that what I eat should be my choice. I rarely do fast food myself, but still - it's the thought of it that annoys me.

  1. The governments trying to limit portion control? Where and when did this come about? Are they going to stalk me in the grocery store to make sure I buy fruits and veggies instead of ice cream and cake? Sounds utterly ridiculous.

  2. I wouldn't mind being rich for awhile. I would skip the famous part!

  3. I don't think the government has any business being in my refrigerator or pantry and telling me what size or portion I can buy or should eat. I'm an adult and it should be my choice.

  4. I don't think the government should control serving sizes however I do feel they should do a better job of inspecting our foods and the facilities that produce them. There have been a lot of e-coli scares recently.

  5. I do not think it is the gov'ts business! Locally, the schools all have switched to the First Lady's food program. The kids are throwing away tons of food because it isn't what they want or like. One school that made the news (not locally), forced a child to buy a hot lunch and wouldn't let her eat what her mother packed for her because it did not meet these requirements. It was not an unhealthy lunch either. I think it is dangerous to give that much control to our government to determine what we can and cannot eat or how much.

  6. More and more it seems government is desiring control that isn't theirs to be had! It's just ridiculous for them to try and monitor what a human is allowed to eat. What has happen to personal choices good or bad. Maybe they should stop worrying over everyone else and do their jobs correctly instead of adding nonsense.

  7. I think governments trying to limit portions size etc... is just a silly waste of money that could be better spent on research to fix the health problems people can't do anything to fight through diet or otherwise as well as actually educate people about their diets rather than try to control them. Some people, even with education, will just buy more to consume anyway. Having just gotten out of the hospital, I can tell you that when I could order extra fats and carbs and full-sugar dessert with every meal, healthcare is still our biggest culprit for destroying people. The new care laws are a baby step, but that's still our greatest black eye on our supposed first-world country.

Sorry about the soapbox, but size control of junk food isn't even a band-aid where we need reconstructive surgery,

  8. I agree! The government has too much input in our business the way it is!

  11. I'm concerned with rising obesity, but I don't think the government should be involved in what we choose to eat.

  12. This is an interesting question. I am more for creating knowledge than regulation. I love how McDonalds now has the calorie count of everything they serve on the menu now. This helps me to make better choices. They would not have done that without regulation.
