Wednesday Hodgepodge

Welcome back to the Wednesday Hodgepodge! Be sure to add your link to the bottom of Joyce's post and then go visit the neighbors. After all, that's part of the fun!
1. In what way are you your own worst enemy?

I tend to be my own worst critic. Things just never seem to be as good as they can be so I keep editing all the time - be it a paper I'm writing, or the way my house is arranged.

2. Jacques Cousteau's birthday was Monday, June 11th...ever been scuba diving? Is that something you'd like to try? What's your favorite under the sea creature?

I've never been scuba diving but would love to try it some day. I guess my favorite under the sea creature would be the giant turtles. They amaze me at how graceful they are - and they live sooooo long.

3. On a scale of 1-10 how comfortable are you in and around the water? (1=not at all and 10=very) Do you know how to swim and if so how and when did you learn?

10-I love to swim. It is the only "athletic" thing that I do enjoy.

4. What's something you do to motivate yourself to tick an item off your to-do list?

I just tell myself that the sooner I start, the sooner it will be done.

5. What makes a good neighbor? Are you a good neighbor?

Good neighbors are those that respect your privacy but are there if you need them. I have always tried to be a good neighbor.

6. Who loads the dishwasher at your house? Is there a right way and a wrong way?

I don't have a dishwasher!

7. You know it's summer when_______________________.

I get the pool up and can get in it!

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I've been working on re-doing my cookbook. I've collected recipes over the years and keep them in a binder. A few years ago, my son asked me to copy it for dil so I made a template and typed it all out all nice a pretty - took me months to do it. Since then, I have accumulated lots more so I've been working on adding them, then I decided to change the template - so now I'm completely re-doing it. Hopefully it won't take so long this time since I can copy and past a lot from when I did it the first time - sure am glad I saved that file!

  1. A few years ago I got my mother's extended family to send me their favorite recipes, old family pictures and stories of those who have gone on and put it all in a huge cookbook. It took me a year to get it together! But everyone LOVES their cookbook! It's about time to do some updates though. Now I'm working on a cookbook for the lovelies of all their favorite recipes and all the new gluten free, sugar free, RAW recipes that I'm now using. I don't what possessed me to do this. It's a royal pain.

  2. And here I thought that I was the only person who didn't have a dishwasher, we are so archaic! I just finished a memory book with all of my family's favorite recipes. It was fun to do. Have a good day.

  4. I've been organizing recipes too. I clip a lot from magazines but I don't add them officially to my recipe book until I try them and know I like them. I had quite a few accumulated and it feels good to have that done. I just went to a bridal shower and the groom's mom made a book for the bride of her son's favorite recipes. It was a nice gift.
