I'm joining the coffee chat again this morning! If you'd like to join, head over to Leslie's at Time out for Mom. The topic is: What memories do you hold close to your heart?
So many!
Going to the doctor to see if I was pregnant with my daughter (way before home pregnancy tests) and having him poke on my abdomen and say "here he is" - a hard little knot that I hadn't even noticed before - but "he" was as "she."
Sitting at work talking to a coworker about trying to get pregnant with my second and having them tell me I was trying to hard, to just calm down and let it happen - turns out it had already happened.
Standing at the kitchen sink with my son standing at my feet pulling my pant leg and saying "Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, ........
Taking the training wheels of my daughters bike and telling her she WAS GOING TO learn to ride it without them - so she did - that day.
My son getting on my daughter's bike and taking off - couldn't stand it that she could ride but he couldn't so he did - the same day.
Sitting on my daughters bed and consoling her - telling her that her getting a "B" would not be the end of the world (but it never happened).
My son's smile.
Teaching daughter to drive a stick shift.
Son teaching himself to drive a stick shift.
Speeding tickets!
Proms.
Graduations.
My son leaving for basic training - just about killed me.
Weddings - two within a year!
Getting the call from my son telling me that they were expecting!
Consoling daughter because she is not expecting.
Birth of my grandson....
And many more!
Memories are a great gift to us, especially good memories. Other memories (not so great) can be very good teachers of what to do and what not to do.
ReplyDeleteYou have some very beautiful memories, and I want to say "thanks" for sharing them from a very private place in your heart.
those are some truly wonderful memories!! I am having such a great start to my day reading about everyone's "brain treasures!".
ReplyDeletealthough, curious about the speeding ticket one - LOL - I am guessing there's a story there. ;)
thanks for chatting.
Oh yes - son received his first speeding ticket 3 days after he got his license and that was just the beginning...........you could say he gave me a few gray hairs, but he did eventually learn his lesson (and that is a story for another day).
Deleteso many great memories!
