I'm joining the coffee chat again this morning! If you'd like to join, head over to Rory's at Time out for Mom. The topic is: Music
Well - you'll have to take into account the area that I come from. I was raised in the hills (and I do mean hills) of TN/VA. Right in the Cumberland Gap area - where country music hails from and still abounds. I love the OLD country - Johnny and June, Merle, The Carter Family, The Chuckwagon Gang, Waylon, Dolly, Kitty, Loretta, Patsy, Willie and of course the greatest of all George Jones and Tammy Wynette. I know all of the old songs by heart and still think it's the best music there is. Can't help it. I was born with country music in my blood.
Love your post... I'm much more of a new country fan myself... but there are some of the old ones that are awesome... and sorry I just never got George Jones
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have a soft spot for that kind of music too! Old country!! :)
ReplyDeletei'm just wondering, with all of the music, you listed--are you a roseanne cash fan?
ReplyDeleteAs I said in my own post....you will find country on my iPod. I was half raised on a farm and so it is in the blood. Love, Love, Love Dolly....seriously, I could have Jolene on repeat for an hour. Naturally, Shania Twain is Canadian, so we must have a token song in her honour. Dixie Chicks are just plain cool - I want to hang out with them. And who...who wouldn't want to hang with the Man in Black? True legends cross musical boundaries.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the chat!
Your post made me laugh, I also grew up on all the old country. I'm not a huge fan but oh the memories everytime I hear them.
