Pondering With a Purpose

Thursday again! Time to do a little "pondering" with Brenda from Fiction With a Purpose.

Her rules are really easy:

1. Grab the Pondering with a Purpose Badge (in her sidebar)
2. Look at the week's prompt
3. Post something on your blog that relates to the prompt - it can be a story, a poem, a picture -- anything you want it to be.
4. Go back here and add the URL from your post to the linky list on Brenda's.
5. Go check out the other bloggers who have added their links to the list.
6. AND most of all.... Have fun!

This Week's prompt:  Showing Love
What are some of the ways that I like to show love? There are quite a few of them. I always tell my kids that I love them every time I talk to them, usually instead of saying "goodbye" I will say "love you." It's something that has roots in my family. We do not say goodbye. When ending a phone conversation, I'll say "later" or "have fun" - anything but goodbye. I also have a tendency to buy things when I see something that I think someone I love would like - nothing big, just little things. Another way is by cooking. I love to see my son eat (I guess it reminds me of all those years trying to fill the bottomless pit of a growing boy). I get the same feeling watching my sil (he loves my meatballs).

  1. Isn't it funny how we equate food with love? I think it must be because we know what kind of effort goes into the preparation and watching them eat just makes us feel warm. My kids have gotten to the point where they're now asking me how to make some of their favorites.....
And I so there with you on buying things whenever you see them ---
Thanks for Pondering with me.... I Love You <3

  2. We don't say goodbye very often in our family either. 'Later, see you, be good, call me...anything but goodbye.

  6. I had to chuckle about the 'I love you.' instead of 'Goodbye.' Most in my family say the same. However, my grandma would always retort with, "You have a funny way of showing it." Of course, a long discussion ensued, ha!

  7. I will always remember entry into my grandma's home: big hello love hug and a kiss: closely followed by "didya eat yet?" And I felt so, so, so loved :)

  8. My family doesn't really care about saying goodbye, we always say bye to each other when we are on the phone or, leaving.
