Pondering With a Purpose

Thursday is here again and it's time to do a little "pondering" with Brenda from Fiction With a Purpose.

Her rules are really easy:

1. Grab the Pondering with a Purpose Badge (in her sidebar)
2. Look at the week's prompt
3. Post something on your blog that relates to the prompt - it can be a story, a poem, a picture -- anything you want it to be.
4. Go back here and add the URL from your post to the linky list on Brenda's.
5. Go check out the other bloggers who have added their links to the list.
6. AND most of all.... Have fun!

This Week's prompt:  Communication

Letters?
Email?
Phone call?
Chat Room?
Text?
I can't remember the last time I wrote a letter.  It's been years - probably15+ and I don't really miss it. You put a letter in the mail and wait, and wait, and wait some more and have I ever told you that I'm not the most patient person in the world?

E-mail - Now that's my kind of communication. Fast and easy - no looking for stamps and envelopes, then running to the post office.

Phone call - Yeah! That's the best - to actually get to talk to someone! Remember when long distance was too expensive to use? Now we can call whenever we want - even overseas!

Chat room - I've used the chat feature on my university's website to communicate with members of various group projects and it works ok but I can't imagine using it for normal communication.

Texting - I absolutely HATE texting but I do it all the time. Why? Because my daughter insists on texting me and I have to answer her. Why do I hate it? First off, I can't SEE them without my reading glasses and I can't see to type on a tiny screen either!

I've got one more for you - video chat (skype or google) , which I have discovered since my grandson was born! The best of all!

  1. I'll bet you just love Skype!! I am not a phone call kind of gal. Never have been. I prefer email ... quick, easy, and editable. ;-)

  2. I used to love skype until it became so wonky I would not be able to hear or see.... there is nothing like a high pitched whistle in the background to overshadow a conversation.... but there is something to be said about 'seeing' the person you are talking to....

  3. Tami, love the new look. And I love Skype. Without it my grandma would have never "met" my little one. We were not able to visit her in Germany for a real meeting before she passed away unexpectedly... but we skyped with her once a week.
