It's time to head over to Patrice's porch for the weekly chat.
Questions
- What's the last thing you baked? I baked a cake over the weekend - a pound cake that I happened to see on the food network - unfortunately, it wasn't as good as my grandma's pound cake.
- What's your favorite thing about fall? The colors - especially in the mountains.
- What's your favorite room in your home? The kitchen - I spend most of my time there.
- Who handles bill paying in your house? I do.
- Tell whatever you'd like to share with our chatting friends. I have to work at the VFW this weekend and it is also the big Labor Day celebration - lots of antique booths, tractors, Civil War Re-enactments - it will be a very busy weekend, even though I have an extra day off. Also, I hope to get my painting project done! I've been working on getting the trim work on the house painted and it has been much more work than I expected - lots of scraping, caulking..... Then I went to paint and my "light gray" color that I bought ended up looking purple! I don't want purple trim on my house! So tonight, I'll get some gray (I hope).
Wish I was there, I would come to your Labor Day Celebration. It sounds like fun, especially the antique booths. I love the fall colors in the mountains. Living in the Great Smoky Mtns provides us with a good view of the changing leaves just about anywhere we drive in the county. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteWe want to do a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and I'd really like to do it in the fall when the leaves are turning.

ReplyDeleteI just love everything about fall. And I'm hoping and praying for a long, chilly one! No pound cake I've ever made is as good as my grandmother's. Nothing I've made has been as good as hers- she was the best cook/baker in the world! Especially her biscuits. And bread. And cakes. And...LOL
