Citation–an official acknowledgement of merit
– an official document or speech that praises somebody’s actions,
accomplishments, or character – a quotation from an authoritative source –
order to appear in court – act of citing or process of citing something
My first thought for the word
citation was my 1981 Chevy Citation that I drove until it had 200,000 miles on
it. That car got me home one day during the worst snowstorm I have ever seen.
It was in 1983 and it took me 5 hours to make it home from work – 45 miles –
but it wasn’t because the Citation was stuck – it was because of waiting for
all the other vehicles to get unstuck and out of my way.

Oh, think my parents had one of those for a short time and I got three citations last year for speeding...
ReplyDeleteI love reading the A-Z posts! They are a lot of fun!
Oh, I remember Citations. It seems that lots of people owned them (cars) back in the day... I also think of a citation as getting some type of legal charge--mostly for speeding or going through a stop sign. The latter type I will try to avoid to maintain my driving record. it's amazing that I have never had a speeding ticket--at least my husband thinks it's a miracle! I guess I have just been lucky because at times, I do have a bit of a "heavy foot."
ReplyDeleteI had a Citation too!!!! Can't remember if it was an '81 model ... but I drove it from 1990 until long after I married ... about 1995!! :) We called it "The ConnyMobile"!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd rather that kind of Citation any day over the kind you get from a police officer! :)
ReplyDeleteI never had a Chevy Citation but I had a Chevy Vega, those old cars ran like the blazes didn't they?!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like some snow storm, miss that weather, living in the south now.
