D is for

Dinosaur –an extinct, chiefly terrestrial reptile that lived in the Mesozoic Era – a person or thing that is hopelessly out of date or incapable of adapting to change

Does every little boy go through a phase when he just loves dinosaurs? Mine did. I remember one Christmas when he was about 4 and got these dinosaurs that were almost as big as he was. I don’t think the phase lasted very long for him though – he quickly went back to the cars and trucks – basically anything that moved. But he sure loved them for a while – wish I still had those dinosaurs, I bet my grandson would like them if a few years.

  1. Mine went through it too and for his birthday party I drew dinosaur feet leading to the back yard!
WOW!!! That was a long time ago...he's going to be 22 in a few weeks and he has certainly outgrown dinosaurs!

  2. How sweet it would be to share those old dinosaurs with your grandson. I, too, wish I had saved more stuff to share with my grands.

  4. Hey, little girls go through dinosaur obsessions too. And not so little girls. I pretty much love them. Jurassic Park all the way. Great post and happy A-Z blogging.

  5. I remember doing a 200 piece dinosaur puzzle with my son, can't say my daughter showed any interest though...

We had one or two books on dinosaurs but trains ruled in our house!

  8. Today happens to be my son's 28th birthday! (Not sure how that happened since I profess to only be 35 myself).
When he was 5 we had a dinosaur birthday party. I actually went up to the butcher and asked for big meat bones. I cleaned and boiled those bones then "planted" them in my garden so the kids at the party could dig for dinosaur bones!

  9. My first son had a dino phase. I kept waiting for one of the other 4 boys to get interested in them, but none of them did! So, no, not all boys do. It's certainly cute to have a pint sized paleontologist around the house, though. :)
