I is for

Iliad-an ancient Greek epic poem, describing the siege and capture of Troy, ascribed to Homer and probably composed by oral tradition over several centuries before 700 B.C.
I personally did not know much about this “poem” but the Biz tells me that “O Brother, Where Art Thou” was based on it.  I wasn’t sure if I believed him or not so I looked it up and according to Wikipedia the movie was: Set in 1937 rural Mississippi[3] during the Great Depression, the film's story is a modern satire loosely based on Homer’s Odyssey. OK – Odyssey, Iliad – can anybody set me/him straight?
