I signed up for the A to Z challenge
a while back and decided that I would just open the dictionary (I’m using the
Microsoft Encarta College Dictionary) and randomly pick a word for each letter,
I‘m going to give the dictionary definition and then my own thoughts. I’m
really glad I started writing these posts early because some of these have
required a little bit of thought!
A is for:
Achievement – success – something that
somebody has succeeded in doing, usually with effort.
My first word is achievement –
couldn’t have picked a better word to start off! As many of you who have
followed me for a while already know. I believe my greatest achievement in life
has been raising my children into the wonderful individuals they have become.
Now I’m not saying that I was a perfect mother or that I have perfect children
– we have definitely had our moments. But I have never had to face many of the
problems that some of my friends did (drugs, teen pregnancy, alienation…..). It definitely did require effort but I feel
very blessed and very proud every time I think of my kids.

That's the best badge of honor a mother can receive!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on getting posts ready early! I'm doing 2 blogs...what was I thinking?!
Hi Tami, what a wonderful start to the A-Z Challenge. I think recognizing your achievement as a mother is awesome. Seeing children grow up to be decent, loving, kind contributors to the human race is worthy of being ranked up there with "great" achievements for sure.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures as well!
