Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

It's time to head over to Patrice's porch for the weekly chat and boy am I glad she confessed to be the reason for this cold weather. Here I was thinking it was because I got the garden plowed!

This week's questions:

  1. Would you prefer to watch a movie in a theater or at home? - definitely at home-theaters are way too cashy for me.
  2. Do you have a specific way for managing change(coins)? This could be a bank, a large piece of pottery, or an old bottle. Perhaps you roll it right away for the bank, give it to your kids, or spend it instead of letting it accumulate. - I have an old peanut butter jar (Skippy bear) that I got when daughter was a baby that I throw my change in.
  3. How often do you have to vacuum? - I have hardwood floors or ceramic tile everywhere except the two upstairs bedrooms - I do those probably once a week.
  4. Do you prefer flooring, carpet, or rugs? - hardwood
  5. This week is my birthday! Yay! If I could visit you for 1-2 hours, where would  you take me. Patrice, Aren't you being a bit presumptuous? Do you think I'd actually want to take you anywhere? Don't you know I only read your blog to see Wendell? Seriously, well not exactly, but humor me anyway- would we go for a walk in your garden, to a nearby antique store, to a tea room or coffee shop? A Happy Meal? Hello- are you still there? I just thought this question would be fun. - There's nothing really interesting around my area but let's see - with a little driving I could take you to Dickson Mounds - an old Indian Burial Ground close to where I live - or with a little more we could go to New Salem - where Abe Lincoln used to live - or we could just stay in my backyard.-

  1. Well of course you could come and we would all hang out at the cabin. :)
I would like to see the burial mounds. I love looking at those things, but then we go dig fossils so I like things like that.
I hope you have nice day?? I am sorry you have to go to the dentist. When I read you post and you said crowns, I thought you meant literal crowns like on your head. I thought that would be a nice thing to wear, then I realized what it is, I hate going the dentist so much I guess I blanked out there. :)

  2. The burial ground sounds interesting. I would be interested in Abe Lincoln's home.I also like back yards! I would be totally happy with hardwood and tile everywhere. We are replacing carpet with them, but it takes a while because of the cost. I now have only flooring on my first floor.
I hope the rest of the week is great!

  3. The Indian Burial Ground sounds really cool! I love stuff like that, too. They have one in the Smoky's around the Cades Cove loop road. You can drive right by it.

  5. Burial Grounds sounds very interesting. Native American history is so spiritual. New Salem is also a place I would like to visit someday.

    1. I love the Burial Grounds. Years ago you could actually see the bones that had been uncovered but now that's not allowed. I can understand why but it was an awesome sight.
