This Week's prompt: The Blogging World
I read Brenda's post this morning and I have to say that once again, she has taken the words right out of my mouth. I feel that I am much closer to my blogging friends than I am to my "real" friends. I talk to you guys more. You know so much more about what makes me what I am. Not that I'm putting down the friends that I have had for years - they've been with me through a lot. But, especially since I moved, I don't see them often, or even talk to them all that often. I talk to you guys every day. I've grown dependent on this little blogging community to fill a void in my life and you have come through with flying colors. I look forward to it every day and can't wait to hop around to see what new on everyone's pages. I feel like I've know all of you for years - I know your kids and even your pets and you know mine. So are you "real" - definitely!

That is so TRUE, Tami... I too am closer to my blogging friends --since I do talk to them so often... I love blogging and cannot imagine ever giving it up. Just wish I had more time to devote to it (although I already devote LOTS of time)....

I think those of us who don't not live in the communities we were raised in, have found a very comfortable and loving niche in blog world. Especially since I find it a lot harder to make new friends as a new mom. Correction: I find it hard to meet friends who "get me". often the only real connection or common ground is that we are moms. But blog world? I feel y'all get me. And I just love that about you!
ReplyDeleteI can relate to your post a lot. I don't have many friends here in town, I moved 800 miles away from them. The internet has not only been a way for me to stay connected with them, but a way for me to connect with new people as well. It is an integral part of my social life!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand how hard it is to be so far away from everything you "know." I've lived here for 30 years and still consider VA home.
