Elocution – the art of speaking
clearly and well, with correct enunciation.
This sort of goes back back to my post from Wednesday's Chat on the Farmhouse Porch.
Does it bother anyone besides me that the young people tend to mutter, slur, and basically use slang ALL the time – even when they are presenting in front of a class! Schools used to teach kids how to speak - when did they stop? Drives me nuts! I find myself wanting to yell at them – Speak up! Make eye contact! Stand up straight! I’m glad I did not become a teacher – don’t think I’d have the patience for it - but I wouldn’t let my students get away with it either!

Ha! the perfect "E"! I agree with what you wrote, I want kids to show confidence and look me in the eye.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to what you dream up for the other letters.........
best,

What a perfect choice for the E word, I couldn't agree with you more. I would be nice wouldn't it if their role models were parents, grandparents and teachers who actually knew knew how to talk and not Hollywood types and sports stars that aren't up to the task? Just terrible!
ReplyDeleteAs a young person, I have to agree. Even I get tired and/or confused by all the slang some teenagers use . . .
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog and following!
